Events

I have been working on events around the country for over 15 years and I have seen some of these events grow in both size and prestige.  These events have varied in size, venue and event content.  A good event is all about planning; you need a good team organising and promoting it as well as running it on the day to make it a success.  I have been involved in both organising and running events over the years and have become more involved in the companies below.

MCM Comic Con by ReedPop

For over 10 years I have dedicated as much of my free time as possible to working at as many MCM Comic Cons as possible.

I have run one of the areas of the event – Memorabilia – which would host a number of special guests.  I would liaise with the event manager and the guests agents to ensure a smooth running of the area.  I have also helped run of one of the largest areas at the events – autographs – working with the Talent Manager to create the layout for the area and assign team mates as Guest Liaisons for the special guests.  I would look after the stewards and ensure they were briefed and understood their responsibilities.

I have recently become the stage manager for the events.  This involves working with the Content Manager and the stage’s MC to ensure the seating arrangements are correct and everything runs to the schedule.

Sci-Fi Ball

I am the floor manager for this annual event.  I started on the technical team assisting with lighting, and was quickly asked to be the floor manager.  I work with the directors of the company to ensure that everything is organised and scheduled correctly and that all teams have the correct information.  During the event, I liaise with all departments, including the venue, and the special guests to ensure everything runs smoothly.
